21:16 | Montevideo (Uruguay), Mar. 24.
Peru's national soccer team lost 1-0 against Uruguay in a 2022 World Cup qualifier match on Thursday at Centenario Stadium in the Uruguayan city of Montevideo.
With a bad impression and an outrageous feeling that VAR robbed them, Peruvians left Montevideo with a loss and with their sights set on Paraguay.
At the end of today's game, a shot made by Miguel Trauco (Peru) ended up tarnishing a key match for both teams, as the ball was stopped by Sergio Ramon Rochet (Uruguay) inside the goal area, but the goal was not awarded by referee Anderson Daronco.
Previously, Giorgian de Arrascaeta (Uruguay) scored a goal in the 41st minute of the first half.
Peru needed to win or at least gain one point at the legendary Centenario Stadium in order to keep their hopes of direct qualification for Qatar 2022 alive.
With this loss, Ricardo Gareca's squad will seek to beat Paraguay to enter the repechage.
For its part, Uruguay managed to qualify for 2022 World Cup with this win.
It must be pointed out that the Incas' next match against Paraguay will take place in Lima on March 29, 2022.
