The Peruvian national soccer squad on Tuesday arrived in Montevideo to face the Uruguayan team on March 24 at 8:30 p.m. (local time) on matchday 17 of the
South American Qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The Incas traveled to the hosting country's capital with excitement for this game, as it might bring them closer to the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
In Lima, before the team's departure, a group of fans waited outside the hotel in Miraflores district to applaud and support the players, who then got on the shuttle that took them to the airport.
As is known, two Peruvian players have been ruled out: Goalkeeper Jose Carvallo was left out of the call of Argentine coach Ricardo Gareca due to appendicitis. Carlos Caceda (FBC Melgar) is set to replace him.
Similarly, defender Jorge Araujo has been sidelined after testing positive for COVID-19.
