Keiko Fujimori—the presidential election's virtual winner—held a phone conversation with Argentine President Javier Milei, who congratulated her on the runoff results and expressed his willingness to strengthen ties between the two countries.

The conversation was shared in a video posted on Fujimori's official social media accounts.

During the talks, the Argentine Head of State highlighted the election results secured by the Popular Force Party leader.

"I truly want to congratulate you. What you have achieved is enormous, and I am also very pleased that the Peruvian people have made a decision of this magnitude and chosen to move toward the right side of history," Milei said.

He recalled the historical ties between the two countries and proposed "harnessing this opportunity to relaunch our ties."

In turn, Fujimori thanked the Argentine top official's team for the cooperation and technical assistance it has been providing in Peru, according to her remarks.

The virtual president said bureaucracy was one of the issues discussed as a challenge to be addressed.

Moreover, Fujimori stated that she will make "a very major effort," referring to the measures Milei has been fostering in Argentina.

At the end of the conversation, both agreed to remain in contact.

Fujimori also said there will be further opportunities to continue exchanging ideas.
