Located in Lima's Miraflores district, Huaca Pucllana was one of the most important ceremonial centers of Lima Culture, which dates back to A.D. 500-700.
Said ancient building was one of the last facilities that hosted its people.
Following many years of research and study, this huaca is a mandatory tourist stop for visitors who want to learn something more about Peruvian history.
The compound includes a great adobe pyramidal building, where marine animal figures can be seen.
The Great Pyramid comprises a group of superposed buildings formed by staggered platforms.
Likewise, it features a great square, patios with benches, altars, and other structures.
This complex has been a research and conservation center for more than 35 years thanks to articulated works between Lima's Miraflores Municipality and Culture Ministry authorities, which are comprised in efforts to preserve the pre-Hispanic heritage of Peru.
Daytime visits: Wednesdays thru Mondays (9:00-17:00).
Pucllana at night
A night-tour to Pucllana is absolutely awesome, too. This is possible thanks to a lighting-system that allows visitors to get a spectacular view of the place.
Nocturnal tours are available Wednesdays thru Sundays (19:00-22:00).
