The temporary hospitalization unit set up at Lolo Fernandez Coliseum in Cañete started operations with 100 hospital beds. The first patients were COVID-19 cases transferred from the Rezola Hospital under the supervision of
Health Minister Victor Zamora.
This healthcare center has modern medical equipment, including 20 vital signs monitors, 25 pulse oximeters that measure the amount of oxygen present in blood, two defibrillators, 10 fiber optic laryngoscopes, an ultrasound scanner, and X-ray equipment.
It is also equipped with 38 digital blood pressure monitors, an isotank, and an oxygen system to transform liquid oxygen into gaseous oxygen, which will be distributed through a gas pipeline connected to each bed.
Biosafety rules
"Cañete now has its own oxygen. This temporary hospital complies with all biosafety conditions to protect COVID-19 patients and health personnel," the Cabinet member said.

Health unites us, and all our efforts are focused on one goal: to continue saving lives," he added.
Zamora was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Benefits and Health Insurance Victor Bocangel.
"This temporary hospital also received patients referred from other areas near Cañete, such as Yauyos," he added.
