Metropolitan Lima and Callao will remain at a
very high alert level for COVID-19 until June 20th, which means some restrictions will be in place on Sundays until then.
In this sense, the ban on the use of private vehicles will be in force all day on such Sundays.
However, public transportation and taxi services will be available for people undertaking essential activities and for those in emergency situations.
Vaccination of the elderly
The elderly people who are scheduled to get vaccinated on these dates (June 13 and June 20) will be allowed to go out —with a companion— to get to their assigned vaccination center.
The elderly will be allowed to do so not only on Sundays when the mandatory social immobility (curfew) is in effect, but on any holiday when the vaccination takes place.
Curfew
Curfew will run from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. the next day, from Monday to Sunday, as Metropolitan Lima and Callao are at a very high-risk level.
No massive events
Likewise, massive events, carnivals, traditional festivals, and access to beaches are banned until June 20th.
Market and supermarkets
Markets and supermarkets, as well as shopping centers and restaurants, will be open on June 13th and 20th with the following capacity limits:
Activities in closed spaces:
-Malls, shopping arcades, department stores, and conglomerates: 30%
-Stores selling necessities, supermarkets, markets, bodegas, and pharmacies: 50%
-Restaurants and related facilities: 40%
-Casinos and slot machine halls, gyms, cinemas, and locations for performing arts: 30%
-Banks and other financial entities: 50%
-Temples and religious sites: 30%
-Sports associations facilities and clubs: 40%
-Libraries, museums, archaeological monuments, cultural centers and galleries: 40%
Activities in open spaces (without capacity limits, observance of protocols required):
-Locations for performing arts
-Locations for cultural education
-Sports associations facilities and clubs
-Protected natural areas, botanical gardens, and zoos
-Restaurants and related facilities
