Peruvian fruits and vegetables continue to gain ground in international markets.
Between January and July 2026, fruit and vegetable shipments totaled US$3.929 billion (62.3% of non-traditional agricultural exports), a 14.9% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
The main products in the agro-export ranking during the period analyzed were:
- Avocados
- Fresh grapes
- Fresh blueberries
- Fresh mangoes
They are joined by other fruits and vegetables that continue to rank among Peru's leading exports worldwide, with Peruvian agricultural products reaching more than 130 markets.
Fruit and vegetable export boom
It is worth recalling that fruit and vegetable exports alone generated more than US$8.104 billion in sales and reached more than 130 markets by the end of 2025.
This reaffirmed Peru's position as one of the world's leading producers and exporters of blueberries, grapes, avocados, mangoes, and other products.
Main destination countries
The main destination countries for Peruvian agricultural exports were the United States, the Netherlands, Spain, Chile, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Colombia, Ecuador, China, and Canada.
This group of countries accounted for 78.5% of the total FOB export value during the analyzed period.
Total agro-exports
During the first seven months of 2026, total agro-exports reached US$6.840 billion, a 2.5% increase compared to the same period a year earlier and reflecting the sector's dynamism in international markets, particularly in Northern Hemisphere countries.
According to Midagri, Peru has consolidated its position as the world's leading exporter of grapes and blueberries, holds the second-largest share of global avocado shipments, is one of the leading suppliers of fresh asparagus, and is also among the major global providers of citrus fruits and mangoes.
Exports continue to rise
The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) said agricultural exports, in value terms, continue to trend upward despite El Niño phenomenon and its effects, particularly on the agricultural sector.
Likewise, Midagri, through the National Agrarian Health Service (Senasa), is accelerating the signing of new phytosanitary protocols with various countries to facilitate market access for fruits, vegetables, and other agricultural products, which will help boost the activities of small-scale producers.
Export projections
By the end of this year, Midagri estimates that agricultural exports will reach US$15 billion, resulting in higher revenues, increased productive employment in rural areas, a greater inflow of foreign currency, and, above all, consolidating Peru's presence in the world's major markets.
