The
Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) held the formal position transferring ceremony. It saw the participation of both the
sector's new head, Jose Arista, and ex-Minister Alex Contreras Miranda, who leaves the institution after 14 months in office.
The ceremony took place on Friday at the aforementioned ministry headquarters in Lima.
Within this framework, Minister Arista thanked the institution officials and staff for their welcoming.
Similarly, the Cabinet member recalled his professional career in this portfolio.
The new government official also expressed willingness to boost efforts aimed at fulfilling the institution's objectives.
"I hope to work with you with the same intensity, dedication, and human warmth with which you worked with Alex Contreras," he stated.
Moreover, he has experience in the public sector after having served as Agriculture minister in 2018.
The new Economy and Finance sector's head is an economist by profession, graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.
He also holds a master's degree in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), in the United States of America.
