Peruvian exports to the United States reached nearly US$6 billion in the first six months of the year, a 20% increase from the same period in 2025,
"The United States is a very important strategic partner for Peruvian exports and also for imports," he told Andina News Agency.
The minister noted that Peruvian sales to the U.S. market exceeded US$10 billion in 2025, while bilateral trade, including both imports and exports, surpassed US$20 billion.
The Cabinet member highlighted the importance of the United States to Peru's foreign trade, noting that it is Peru's third-largest destination for overall imports.
He added that it is the second-most important market for Peruvian agricultural exports after the European Union.
Diversified export offering
The minister highlighted that Peru has a diversified export offering for the U.S. market, including products from the mining, agricultural, textile, metallurgical, and fishing sectors.
Regarding the agricultural sector, Valencia mentioned blueberries, avocados, and grapes as the products recording the highest export volumes.
"Finally, we should not forget that we also export traditional products to the United States, such as coffee and cacao," he added.
