Peruvian exports are set to break historical records during President Martin Vizcarra's administration (2018-2021), Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Rogers Valencia projected on Thursday.
This result was driven by an increase in non-traditional shipments, meaning products such
as: giant squid (+65%), phosphate (+40%), wool textiles (+40%),
mangoes (+35%), and grapes (+34%).
"This figure is important and allows us to estimate we will achieve an exporting record by the end of the year," Minister Valencia pointed out.
Likewise, the Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur) currently undertakes efforts to find new markets and
promote trade.
Regional exporting development
On the other hand, the official underlined the importance of consolidating
Peru's regional shipments in order to maintain the exports growth.
