09:28 | Lima, May. 22.

Everything is ready for the debate between Fuerza Popular and Peru Libre technical teams at Gran Teatro Nacional (Grand National Theater) in Lima this weekend, National Elections Board (JNE) Education and Civic Citizenship Training National Director Milagros Suito has affirmed.

In remarks to TV Peru on Friday night, the official indicated that each political party accredited six specialists to attend the meeting scheduled for Sunday May 23 at 7:00 p.m. (local time).

As she explained, the format established for said event will consist of six sections.

Following each presentation, an external participant —who is familiar with the addressed topic— will ask a question. After answering it, the speaker will be allowed to provide additional information on the topic.

Suito indicated that each section will last approximately 25 minutes, which means that the debate will have a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

At the venue, specialists may be accompanied by only one representative of each party and may not bring any guests.

Last Thursday, JNE representatives held a meeting with members of the National Police of Peru, the State Security agency, and San Borja District Municipality to put the finishing touches to the established security measures, she recalled.

The official also indicated that a recent study —which will soon be released by the highest electoral body— reveals that 26% of citizens define their vote during the election week.

In this sense, Suito said that both the technical debate and that of presidential candidates will help citizens to be informed about their proposals.

Below are the sections and participants of each section:
