In strict compliance with the law, the
National Superintendence of Migrations, through the Immigration Control Post at Lima's Jorge Chavez International Airport, denied entry to Peru to more than 660 foreigners of various nationalities without visa, over the past 12 months.
In a statement, the Migrations office underscored that, in accordance with national and international regulations, these people must be re-embarked to their country of origin, free of charge through the airline that brought them to Peru.
Moreover, it added, they can return to the country once they comply with the entry requirements.
Said office explained that Venezuelan Duiliana Sanchez Pereira was denied entry to Peru because she did not have a visa and her temporary stay permit card is not valid.
Furthermore, it reported that the aforementioned foreign citizen remains by her own choice in the airport's international transit area, without being detained and disregarding the non-admission notification issued by the Superintendence of Migrations on January 31, 2024.
Likewise, it indicates that she has filed a lawsuit before the Judiciary.
"The National Superintendence of Migrations urges all to comply with and respect the entry requirements to the country established by the Peruvian State, as do thousands of foreigners who enter Peru through checkpoints every day, in order to avoid situations like the one above mentioned," the statement reads.
