The Executive Branch, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has ordered the reopening of the Peruvian Embassy in the Republic of the Philippines, headquartered in the host country's capital, Manila.

This is established by Supreme Resolution No. 138-2025-RE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on Tuesday.

Likewise, the resolution allocates the resources necessary for the reopening and maintenance of the aforementioned diplomatic mission, through the ministerial portfolio's budget.

In the preamble, it is specified that the Philippines stands out for its political relevance in Southeast Asia, its strategic geographic location in the Asia-Pacific, its demographic base of around 113 million inhabitants, and its prosperous economic performance, making it one of the fastest-growing economies in said region.

It is emphasized that the presence of a Resident Embassy in the Asian country fosters and strengthens bilateral relations in the political-diplomatic, economic-commercial, scientific-technological, investment-tourism promotion, and consular fields, given the importance and broad potential of the bilateral relationship.

It is also detailed that, through a diplomatic note dated June 13, 2025, the Philippines expressed its consent regarding the reopening of Peru's Resident Embassy in its capital, thus complying with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

The decree bears the signature of President Dina Boluarte and Foreign Affairs Minister Elmer Schialer.
