Peru: Cusco Airport expands operating time to 22 hours

10:50 | Cusco (Cusco region), Dec. 5.

Cusco's Teniente Alejandro Velasco Astete Airport has extended its flight arrival and departure schedule. Since December 1 commercial flight operations run from 4:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. the following day.

The Peruvian Airports and Commercial Aviation Corporation (Corpac) signed an agreement with LATAM Airlines Peru for this extension, allowing the airline to operate more flights during the new time slot.

Cusco International Airport's operating hours were from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. until last November.

The agreement was signed by Corpac's General Manager Jose Rubio and Latam's Senior Corporate Affairs manager Monica Obando during a meeting held at Corpac's headquarters in Callao region.

Other airlines may also opt for the extended 22-hour flight operations due to high passenger demand, as Cusco is in peak season.
