At its weekly session on Wednesday, the Council of Ministers coordinated various issues, among them, actions to confront the dengue epidemic that affects Peru.

"At the Council of Ministers session, the President of the Republic Dina Boluarte coordinates, among other issues, actions to continue confronting the dengue epidemic in the country," the Presidential Office reported via X (formerly Twitter).

This event took place at the Government Palace in the Peruvian capital, Lima.

Last April, the Executive Branch officialized Urgency Decree No. 007-2024, which dictates extraordinary measures in economic and financial matters to strengthen the strategy aimed at confronting the dengue epidemic at a national level.

There, extraordinary measures in economic and financial matters were established so that the Health Ministry, the National Health Institute, as well as various regional and local governments, can rely on the necessary financing to strengthen the strategy against said epidemic.

It is worth noting that this session also addressed the draft urgency decree to declare emergency in the southern Lima districts affected by gas explosion at a gas station in Villa Maria del Triunfo, as announced by Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen.
