Peru: Council of Ministers approves program to combat illegal crops

The President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar, chaired a new Council of Ministers session on Wednesday.

Strategic programs and progress on priority measures for the country were assessed during this event.

In that context, the creation of the PRECIP program to tackle illegal crops was approved, along with guidelines to boost investment in the regions.

At this session, the Executive Branch reaffirmed its commitment to security in the Valley of Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro Rivers (VRAEM), as well as to transparent economic management looking ahead to 2030.

The Council of Ministers meets every Wednesday to assess and adopt government measures for the country's development.
