The ceremony took place in the Pasos Perdidos (Lost Steps) Hall and was attended by members of Parliament.

The Parliament head underscored the political and professional career of the deceased congressman, who was also a doctor by profession.
Salhuana added that Saavedra had a promising future in Peruvian politics.

Congressman Saavedra is remembered for his dedication to the country's most remote communities, bringing hope and representing the dreams of thousands of citizens who trusted his work.
"We are honoring a life of work and commitment, a legacy that will remain in everyone's memory," Salhuana added in his speech.
Congress, through the spokespersons of the parliamentary factions, extended its condolences to the late lawmaker's family and friends, as well as to the Somos Peru party, with which he shared his struggle to consolidate democracy in the country, according to legislators.
Soto said that Saavedra was in the Imperial City due to a working meeting in that region.
He was found dead in the hotel room where he was staying.
