As part of this purpose, the military institution signed a strategic agreement with Hyundai Rotem for the future acquisition of K2 main battle tanks and K808 8x8 wheeled armored vehicles.
It also included the participation of Congress Chairman Fernando Rospigliosi; Prime Minister Ernesto Alvarez; Defense Minister Cesar Diaz; Joint Command of the Armed Forces Chief, Army General David Ojeda; and Army General Commander Cesar Briceño.
The agreement establishes technological cooperation, financing alternatives, and the promotion of industrial projects linked to the defense sector.
This consolidates efforts to provide the country with modern and reliable means that meet the security and defense demands of the 21st century.
Book presentation
As part of the activities for Army Day, Army General Commander Cesar Briceño presented the book titled "Archivo Cuartel General del Ejército" (Army General Headquarters Archive), which commemorates the 50th anniversary of the existence of the Peruvian Army General Headquarters (CGE in its Spanish acronym).
The publication highlights the work of the architects responsible for the design and construction of the CGE in the 1970s. It includes letters, reports, and official anecdotes, some of which are related to the Pentagon and NASA.
It also features personal accounts from the architects, including Hector Chueca, who attended the presentation at the age of 94.
General Briceño thanked all the architects and members of the construction team for their dedication, highlighting their passion and commitment.
Moreover, he emphasized that the book invites readers to rediscover the history, architecture, and spaces of the CGE, showcasing the institution's legacy and reaffirming its validity as part of the Peruvian Army's identity.
