Peru and Germany boost cooperation in security, investment, and sustainable development

Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Carlos Espa held a fruitful phone conversation with his German counterpart, Johann Wadephul.

During the conversation held on Friday, the officials highlighted the strong friendship and cooperation bonds that characterize relations between Peru and Germany.

Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to continuing to work together in favor of citizen security.

They underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation in the fight against transnational organized crime and drug trafficking.

Both authorities highlighted the dynamism of bilateral economic relations, as well as their mutual interest in continuing to boost trade and German investment.

Moreover, the ministers agreed on recognizing the potential for deepening cooperation in raw materials and supply chains.

They also welcomed the upcoming visit to Peru by the Parliamentary State Secretary at Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Stefan Rouenhoff, scheduled for late September.

Finally, they agreed to maintain close bilateral coordination and hold a further meeting on the sidelines of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly.

Minister Wadephul expressed interest in making a visit to Peru soon.
