Peru is able to increase infrastructure investments if global financial crisis deepens, which will contribute to avoid an economic slowdown, said minister of Economy and Finance, Luis Carranza.
"If more resources are needed and the global crisis worsens, we will be able to increase infrastructure investment. We are committed to avoid an economic slowdown”, he said.
The Ministry expects the Peruvian economy to reach an average GDP growth of six percent.
“We believe we are going to maintain this growth rate”, he said in a press conference after swearing in as new minister Economy and Finance.
