has reported that 39 political organizations are registered to participate in the 2026 General Elections, following the deadline for the formation of electoral alliances.

Additionally, 36 political organizations registered individually. Thus, the total number of groups authorized to run in the upcoming elections amounts to 39.
Similarly, a preliminary estimate of candidacies was presented: 10,257 candidates nationwide, including 117 for the Presidency, 3,354 for the Senate, 6,162 for the Chamber of Deputies, and 624 for the Andean Parliament.
"Only on December 23 will we know which candidates will participate. Starting February 11, the official list will be published, and the objection phase will begin," Burneo explained.
According to the JNE, December 23, 2025, will be the deadline for the submission of presidential tickets and candidate lists. On that same day, the Political Organizations Registry (DNROP) will close, as established by the Political Organizations Law.
Fight against disinformation
The plenary also presented the progress of the JNE’s Fact-Checking Committee, responsible for identifying and verifying false or misleading information circulating on social media and in media outlets during the electoral process.
Additionally, it was detailed that more than 400 journalists and 350 citizens have been trained to prevent and counter disinformation.
Burneo underscored that digital monitoring will allow for the identification of false narratives, hate speech, and potential electoral risks in real time.
