OECD reaffirms support for Peru's accession process

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) reaffirmed its support for the Peruvian process of accession to said institution.


This occurred during one of the meetings attended by Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi —within the framework of the Ibero-American Summit held in the Dominican Republic.

"OECD Deputy Secretary-General, Ulrik Knudsen, reaffirmed to Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi the Organisation's support for Peru's accession process and expressed the full willingness to continue providing technical advice for that purpose," the Peruvian government agency reported via its official Twitter account. 

As is known, the OECD is made up of 38 countries: Germany, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Colombia, South Korea, Costa Rica, Denmark, Slovenia, Spain, the United States, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, and Hungary.

Members countries also include: Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Norway, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Sweden, Switzerland, and Turkey.


Furthermore, Foreign Affairs Minister Gervasi met with Portuguese counterpart, João Gomes Cravinho, to reinforce European support for Peru's institutional political process.

On this occasion, both authorities highlighted the good level of bilateral relations.
