MEF reaffirms Peru's economic growth forecast of 3.5% for 2025

15:00 | Lima, Aug. 28.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) on Thursday presented the Multiannual Macroeconomic Framework (MMM) 2026–2029 and reaffirmed Peru's economic growth forecast of 3.5% for this year.

"For 2025, the MMM reaffirms a 3.5% GDP growth, supported by domestic demand and a projected 4.5% increase in private investment (over US$57 billion), accompanied by higher mining activity, PPP projects, and infrastructure works," the government agency stated.

The MEF noted that this dynamism will favor job creation and household consumption, in a context of price stability, recovering business expectations, and favorable financing conditions.

Additionally, a higher output in mining, agriculture, and fisheries will contribute to boosting Peruvian exports, in a context of high commodity prices and growing demand from trading partners.

It is worth noting that the MMM projects global economic growth at 2.8% in 2025, while global GDP is expected to recover, converging to an average growth rate of 3% for the 2026–2029 period.
