Jorge Ponce San Roman appointed Peru's Ambassador to Holy See

Jorge Fernando Ponce San Roman, a career diplomat of the Republic, has been appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to the Holy See.

This measure was made official through Supreme Resolution No. 135-2025-RE, published in the Legal Regulations bulletin of the Official Gazette El Peruano on Thursday.

In this regard, the corresponding letters of credence and full powers are granted to him, with the purpose of enabling him to fulfill his duties.

It also specified that the date on which the aforementioned diplomatic official is to take up duties will be set by ministerial resolution.

In the preamble, it added that this measure is in accordance with the Law governing the Executive Branch’s participation in the appointment and designation of public officials, as well as with the Law of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic and its regulations.

Likewise, it has the approving vote of the Council of Ministers.

The Supreme Resolution bears the signatures of the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, and Foreign Affairs Minister Elmer Schialer.
