Government, Southern Peru sign collaboration agreement over vaccination centers

The President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti on Wednesday led the signing ceremony of the interinstitutional collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Health and Southern Peru, which will allow said company to support the organization and implementation of 26 vaccination centers in the influence areas where it operates.

 
This agreement will contribute to immunizing more than 400,000 people in the prioritized areas of Apurimac, Arequipa, Tacna, Moquegua, and Cajamarca regions.

"The signing of this agreement constitutes one more example of the collaboration between the public and private sectors, which we have been proposing and putting into practice since the beginning of this Government," the Head of State expressed during the ceremony. 

The top official went on to add that "our task is to articulate the work of all government agencies in different areas of activity of the Peruvian State. This type of task requires a common purpose; in this case, it means protecting the health and lives of Peruvians."

"This agreement will significantly accelerate and expand the rate of vaccination against COVID-19 in order to preserve the health of Peruvians," he concluded.

The event also saw the presence of Energy-Mines Minister Jaime Galvez, as well as the Governors of Apurimac, Arequipa, Moquegua, Tacna, and Cajamarca regions. The latter attended the event virtually.
