Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Carlos Pareja, met with the Ambassadors of Morocco, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Palestine to exchange views on strengthening Peru's bilateral relations.

Likewise, the meeting included the participation of the Foreign Affairs Ministry's directors general and representatives of business associations.

During the event, Minister Pareja highlighted the momentum in relations between Peru and the Arab countries.

Furthermore, the gathering underscored existing opportunities in trade, investment, infrastructure, mining, energy, agriculture, technology, air connectivity, and food security.

In this context, progress toward signing the General Cooperation Agreement with Saudi Arabia and the upcoming visit of a trade mission from that country were highlighted, along with ongoing coordination to promote Qatar Airways' presence in Lima.

This event also underscored the contribution of investments from the United Arab Emirates and Algeria to the development of the Peruvian economy, opportunities for infrastructure cooperation with Egypt, the interest in launching a new phase of economic and trade relations with Morocco, and the importance of continuing to strengthen ties with the State of Palestine.

In turn, the business representatives proposed promoting reciprocal trade missions, establishing new business coordination mechanisms, and advancing the halal certification of Peruvian meat products for export to the Arab countries.

Moreover, they highlighted the potential of Peru's ports as a platform for expanding the country's connectivity with markets in Asia and the Middle East.

In the political sphere, the importance of respecting international law and the peaceful settlement of disputes was reaffirmed.

The meeting also underscored the importance of revitalizing dialogue and cooperation between South America and the Arab countries.

Finally, Minister Pareja reaffirmed Peru's commitment to continuing to strengthen its relations with the Arab states through high-level visits, business missions, and new cooperation initiatives aimed at building a long-term partnership.
