The Foreign Affairs Ministry has authorized
Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister John Camino Cannock to travel to Washington, D.C., United States, from May 7 to 10, 2024, to participate in the first meeting of the High-Level Political Dialogue Mechanism between Peru and the United States, at the deputy ministerial level.
This event will be held in the U.S. capital on May 9.
Background
The High-Level Political Dialogue Mechanism between Peru and the United States was established in June 2022.
It includes five thematic pillars: democratic governance and migration; cooperation for economic prosperity and inclusive development; environmental protection; security and defense; plus, culture and education.
Additionally, it is established that the deputy minister must submit, within 15 calendar days following his return to Peru, a detailed report of the actions taken and the results achieved during the trip.
