The "Exhibe Perú 2025" Craftwork Innovation Festival is already open to the public in Kennedy Park in the Miraflores district of Lima until October 29 of this year, which brings together the talent and creativity of 40 artisans from eight regions of the country.

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) inaugurated the festival with the goal of promoting innovation and Peruvian crafts nationally and internationally.

The festival features exhibitors from the Productive Innovation and Technology Transfer Centers (CITE) of Arequipa, Ayacucho, Puno, Piura, Lambayeque, Ucayali, Huancavelica, and Amazonas, presenting artisanal offerings that combine ancestral techniques with innovation in design, materials, and processes.

“Craftsmanship is a living culture, it is identity, and it is also development. At Mincetur, we are committed to promoting innovative, sustainable, and human-centered craftsmanship, where each creator finds a real opportunity for growth,” said Rusbel Hernández Castro, Director General of Craftsmanship, during the opening ceremony.

The initiative is expected to generate more than 500,000 soles (approximately US$148,000) in sales, highlighting the talent and efforts of more than 150 artisan families from across the country.

Furthermore, it seeks to foster new business opportunities, encourage innovation in the sector, and consolidate Peruvian craftsmanship as an engine of sustainable development.

Exhibitions and Sales

The event will offer live demonstrations and displays of production processes, showcasing the work of artisans in areas such as textiles, ceramics, jewelry, and camelid fiber, with a focus on sustainability, fair trade, and inclusion.

"Exhibe Perú," organized by the Directorate of Technological Innovation Centers for Crafts and Tourism (DCITAT) and the CITE Network for Crafts and Tourism, is a showcase of the talent of artisans who, with the support of the CITEs, are creating products with high cultural value and competitiveness in the national and international markets.

Currently, the National Registry of Artisans (RNA) has 87,000 registered artisans, 76% of whom are women.

Through programs such as "Somos Artesanía," Mincetur (Ministry of Tourism and Tourism) has awarded more than 29 million soles (approximately US$8.57 million) in direct subsidies, strengthening the productivity and sustainability of artisan workshops.

Likewise, Peruvian craftsmanship has gained international prominence with the "Crafts of Peru" sector brand, present at Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai (Japan), and with the first international license signed with the Swiss company Victorinox, bringing the art of Peruvian masters to the world.

At this year's festival, Mincetur announced the awarding of a new license to use the "Crafts of Peru" and "Peru Ancestral: Experience in Gold" sector brands to Joyería Murguía for its "QANTU" collection, inspired by the national flower, the cantuta, and the pink Andean opal.

This proposal, composed of pieces crafted in 18-karat gold, pays homage to the country's natural symbols and expresses the delicacy, authenticity, and mastery of Peruvian jewelry art. With this recognition, Mincetur strengthens the relationship between the public and private sectors, promoting international exposure and the appreciation of contemporary Peruvian craftsmanship.

The "Exhibe Perú" Festival of Innovation in Crafts takes place in a context of economic recovery and international positioning of Peruvian tourism, reaffirming Mincetur's commitment to inclusive, sustainable, and competitive crafts.
