Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa on Wednesday congratulated Keiko Fujimori on her victory in Peru’s June 7 presidential election runoff, saying that Latin America is entering a new era of leadership and governments committed to their citizens.

"Latin America is entering a new era. An era of strong leadership, bold decisions, and governments committed to the future of their citizens," Noboa stated on X.

"Congratulations, Keiko Fujimori. Our countries have a historic opportunity to move forward together," he added.

The candidate won Peru's 2026–2031 presidential election following the completion of the vote count in the runoff, 22 days after the vote.

Fujimori said she accepted the results with a great sense of responsibility because she will lead a divided country.

With 100% of the votes counted, the Popular Force Party candidate secured 50.135% of the valid votes, receiving 9,223,396 votes, compared to 49.865% for her rival, Together for Peru's left-wing candidate Roberto Sanchez, who garnered a total of 9,173,755 votes.

The margin between the two candidates was fewer than 50,000 votes.

The National Elections Board (JNE) will officially proclaim the election results on Friday, July 3.

On July 15, Fujimori will receive her credentials as President-elect.

On July 28, she will be sworn in during a ceremony at Congress held as part of the country's Independence Day celebrations.
