Officials from the
Consulate General of Peru in the U.S. city of Los Angeles accompanied renowned Peruvian archaeologist, Dr. Walter Alva, in the tribute paid to him by
California State University (Cal State LA) on March 11, the
Foreign Affairs Ministry has reported.
During the ceremony, our compatriot received an award for his outstanding career.
During his speech,
he highlighted the constant work and dedication of the renowned Peruvian archaeologist to the research on Moche Culture, as well as
his long career of service to the Peruvian State.
As is widely known,
Dr. Walter Alva led the research on the Royal Tombs of Sipan for more than 30 years, since its discovery in 1987.
