This performance was mainly driven by a year-on-year increase in mortgage loans denominated in local currency, which grew 8.2%.
Meanwhile, those denominated in foreign currency declined 2.4%.
In August alone
On a month-on-month basis, mortgage loans increased 0.7% in August, driven by loans denominated in soles, which rose 0.8%.
In contrast, mortgage loans denominated in U.S. dollars recorded a month-on-month decline of 0.3%.
Last August, the dollarization ratio of these loans declined to 5.2%, according to the BCR.
