Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Rogers Valencia on Wednesday presented the Marca Perú (Peru Brand) to the Peruvian Association of Banks (Asbanc), a distinction established by the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PromPerú).

"We want to take this opportunity to present the Marca Perú to the Association of Banks," the government official stated.

"The Marca Perú represents a sense of belonging and identity within our country. However, when PromPerú grants it to an institution, that institution must take Peru's symbol of quality to the world," he added.

During the opening ceremony of the 60th Annual Assembly of the Latin American Federation of Banks (Felaban), Minister Valencia emphasized the importance of highlighting the country's stability at the meeting.

The Cabinet member mentioned the need to attract investment equivalent to up to 25% of gross domestic product (GDP) to achieve economic growth.

"Peru has been a disciplined country in recent years thanks to the Central Reserve Bank, which has provided stability," Valencia stressed.

"Today, Peru also needs a responsible financial system with a clear objective: financial inclusion, in order to move toward a society with high social capital," he pointed out.
