UNHCR underlines Peru efforts on Venezuelan migration

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Representative in Peru Federico Agusti highlighted the efforts undertaken by the National Superintendence of Migrations, aimed at assisting Venezuelan migrants who reside in Peruvian territory.

In this sense, the Argentinean underlined the work carried out in the Inca country to face the migratory phenomenon. To date, more than 650,000 Venezuelans have entered the nation

"I am very impressed with the work quality being executed by the Superintendence, not only in Lima, but also at the border. The incorporation of technology, process quality, assistance from each one of its officials," Agusti expressed. 

On this occasion, the UNHCR representative visited the migrations office and was joined by Peruvian Superintendent Roxana del Aguila.

Likewise, he pointed out refugees and migrants from the Bolivarian country require access to the territory and protection, such as legal permanence. 

Lastly, he commended the Inca country's leadership shown in the Lima Group
