Today, September 5, the Seventh Vaccinathon —a vaccination marathon against COVID-19 organized by the Ministry of Health (Minsa)— continues uninterruptedly in Lima Metropolitan Area, Callao, and at least 10 regions across the country.

The 36-hour-long vaccination event —mainly aimed at 32 and 33-year-olds— kicked off on Saturday, September 4, at 7:00 a.m. (local time) and will come to an end today at 7:00 p.m.

This campaign is also aimed at pregnant women aged above 18 at more than 28 weeks of gestation, people aged 38 and older who have yet to receive their second dose, as well as those who are behind schedule.

Also eligible for vaccination are teenagers aged 12-17 with comorbidities, such as rare diseases and orphan diseases, mental and neurodevelopmental disorders, cancer, Down syndrome, as well as people who are awaiting or have undergone an organ transplant.

This new vaccination drive, which is aimed at administering 600,000 doses, is being held in Metropolitan Lima and Callao, as well as in the regions of Amazonas, Ancash, Apurimac, Cusco, Cajamarca, Huanuco, Ica, Lima, Moquegua, and Ucayali, which have been confirmed so far.

In the case of Metropolitan Lima and Callao, the Seventh Vaccinathon will take place at 29 vaccination centers until today, September 5, at 7 p.m.

Thus, Minsa continues to widen the age range for the vaccination process nationwide, so as to protect more people from the COVID-19 pandemic.
