Peru: President leads Council of Ministers session to address legislative powers request

The President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori, leads a new ordinary Council of Ministers session at the Government Palace in Lima.

The meeting addresses the request for legislative powers from Congress and the main economic and budgetary instruments for 2027.

According to the agenda, the event addresses a bill proposing to delegate to the Executive Branch the power to legislate on public security, strengthening micro and small enterprises, and promoting employment.

Likewise, it covers productive development, tax matters, and administrative simplification, among other areas.

On budget matters, the Cabinet will review the proposed Public Sector Budget Bill for Fiscal Year 2027, along with the Financial Balance and Public Sector Indebtedness Bills for the same period.

As part of this analysis, the Cabinet will also evaluate the approval of the 2027-2030 Multiannual Macroeconomic Framework, proposed by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF).

The document contains the main guidelines and projections for economic policy in the coming years.

Moreover, the session includes issues related to security and emergency response in various regions, private investment promotion, and international judicial cooperation.
