The President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, welcomed the decision of Congress, which on Thursday granted a vote of confidence to the Ministerial Cabinet led by Prime Minister Eduardo Arana.
On social media, the Presidential Office highlighted that, by granting the vote of confidence, Parliament reaffirms the democratic commitment that unites us as a country.
Earlier on Thursday, the Cabinet chief appeared before lawmakers to present the Government's general policy and the main guidelines of his administration.
The motion was approved with 62 votes in favor, 30 against, and 10 abstentions.
Thus, Parliament approved granting the vote of confidence to the Arana Cabinet, following a lengthy debate that lasted over three hours.
During his address to the national legislature, Arana stated that the pillars of his administration will be strengthening the fight against organized crime, promoting investment and employment to ensure the country's growth, as well as guaranteeing free, transparent, and unquestionable elections in 2026.
He also stated that one of the Government's key priorities will be to ensure quality healthcare and education, as well as to close social gaps in a more decentralized country.
