on Thursday emphasized that his government has prioritized the strengthening and modernization of the Peruvian Air Force's (FAP) operational and technological capabilities for the remainder of this year and throughout 2026.
The Head of State participated in the closing of the FAP Officers' School year-closing ceremony held at Las Palmas Air Base in Lima.
During his speech, the top official noted that Peru's defense and development are inseparable. Therefore, he said, a modern, strong, and deterrent Air Force is required.
"For this reason, our government has declared the strengthening and modernization of the operational and technological capabilities of our Air Force a priority for the remainder of this year and throughout 2026," Jeri stated.
"We will provide our pilots, technicians, and personnel with the tools necessary to carry out their duties in the 21st century," he expressed.
Likewise, the President underscored that "honor is never negotiable."
He noted that the homeland always comes first, urging the students to follow the example of FAP Captain Jose Abelardo Quiñones, a national hero who sacrificed his life in the line of duty.
The Head of State also addressed the members of the 2025 Captain FAP Luis Salinas Rondo class, stating that Peru currently needs all of their capabilities.
He added that their duty is to be part of a generation that continues this legacy and makes a difference.
"Through your effort, just like the efforts of those who came before you and those who will come after, together we will build the great country we were always meant to be. We have the obligation to make it so," Jeri emphasized.
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Ernesto Alvarez, Congress Chairman Fernando Rospigliosi, senior commanders of the Armed Forces, and other government officials.
