The Fiscal Agreement for Sustainable Growth aims to create a roadmap that transcends short-term situations, safeguards Peru's future, and goes beyond political cycles, President Jose Jeri stated on Thursday.

Remarks were made while leading the first session of this dialogue and coordination forum.

Similarly, the Head of State emphasized that this forum allows for hearing different opinions and proposals aimed at fostering Peru's development and responsible growth in the coming years.

"From now on, it is about building with a sense of fiscal responsibility, but also without losing sight of the social focus," he expressed.

The top official indicated that one of the Fiscal Agreement's proposals is the expansion of the tax base, which has been discussed for a long time and requires action to achieve a positive impact on the economy.

Furthermore, the President stated that one of the agreement's main ideas is to ensure the country has increased revenue to continue sustainably meeting social expectations.

He added that the credibility of this coordination forum will be built through actions and strategic measures with a social focus.

"We cannot think about economic growth while ignoring social foundations. Finding the balance is the challenge," Jeri said in his speech.

In that regard, the President urged attendees to continue participating in the Fiscal Agreement meetings, emphasizing that this is "a matter of the (Peruvian) State, not of the government."

The first session of the Fiscal Agreement for Sustainable Growth was held at the Government Palace in Lima.

This event was attended by Economy and Finance Denisse Miralles, Constitutional Court Chairwoman Luz Pacheco, Ombudsman Josue Gutierrez, former Ministers of Economy, Congress members, and business sector representatives.
