The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Friday called for putting Peru ahead and ending political revenge in the country.

The Head of State urged that the truce not only be due to Christmas and New Year Holidays, but with the country from now on.

"(...) so that in peace we can reach agreements and solve the problems that, with just reason, the brothers and sisters of Peru denounce," Mrs. Boluarte said in an interview with RPP Noticias.

The top official emphasized that this truce should not be with Dina Boluarte, but with all Peruvians.

The President ruled out being responsible for the political crisis and asked for maturity from those politicians who are behind mobilizations and want to benefit (from the situation) with a view to the 2024 general elections.

The Head of State affirmed she comes from the left. Nonetheless, Mrs. Boluarte said she will never endorse anarchism and violence that attempt to suffocate the country.

Moreover, the top official asked opponents not to deceive the country saying that she staged a coup d'état, when others had led to the political crisis and misled ex-President Pedro Castillo into error.

"Consequently, I urge you to put Peru ahead and work jointly for the country. Enough of political revenge (...) we must work together day by day," she noted.
