Peruvian appellation of origin of pisco is
recognized by 70 countries around the world, and this recognition came for the quality of its flagship drink, Peru's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) has affirmed.
"We are doing sterling work with the private sector and regional governors in a bid to increase
pisco exports, and the aim is to reach US$7 million this year, considering
sales hit US$5.8 million by the end of 2018," he added.
Torres noted that
Casa Peru (Peru House) served as a showcase and tasting event to feature Peruvian pisco at national and international fairs. The flagship drink enjoyed remarkable acceptance among the attendees.
"We are cementing our position in the United States and Europe, where our pisco keeps adding medals. Besides, we will be making our second appearance at a China import fair by the end of November," he added.
The PromPeru Executive-President stressed the Government is promoting innovation in the pisco industry and in distillates of other products, such as potatoes, where Peru has great potential.
