The President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti on Friday afternoon reported that vaccination against COVID-19 will begin on February 9 or no later than February 10.

After their arrival, the vaccines will be brought to the warehouses run by the National Center for Supply of Strategic Resources in Health (Cenares), where health personnel will verify their status.

Then, escorted by the Armed Forces, the doses will be taken to the places where they will be stored before distributing them to the vaccination sites.

"All this should take a maximum of one or two days. We hope to start the vaccination on Tuesday or —if there is any problem— we are vaccinating on Wednesday morning at the latest, but very possible on Tuesday," he stressed.

According to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the remaining 700,000 doses will arrive on February 14.

United

The President also pointed out the importance of the country standing united and relying on political stability, as this allows the Government to work calmly and clearly on this task, after recalling that there was a period of instability over recent months.

"Since the day we took office, we have worked tirelessly, addressing the vaccination and other problems that affect the population," he emphasized.
