The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Friday announced that the National Citizen Security Council will meet next week to agree on measures aimed at solving the problem of public insecurity which affects the country's population.

Within this framework, the Head of State invited all those present to work jointly in favor of achieving citizen security, affected by the actions of people linked to illegal acts.

"For next week, we have already (scheduled) a meeting with the National Citizen Security Council. Although it is true that when I assumed the Presidency (in December 2022), we had to solve the political issue, we are now starting to solve the citizen insecurity issue, which is the other scourge that lacerates the country day by day," she affirmed.

In this sense, the top official indicated that she does not want "any more lives lost" either due to political violence or crime on the streets, but that it is necessary "to take care of one another."

"We must have that human respect approach; we must be inclusive, we must think that poverty in Peru must gradually decrease," she added.

In this regard, the President explained that in Peru poverty is viewed in a monetary sense, although that must be done in a multidimensional manner so as to grant quality of life to the most vulnerable citizens.

Dialogue

Moreover, the Head of State indicated that in order for people to work calmly and for problems to be solved, it is necessary to have peace and tranquility, engaging in dialogue with everyone to reach consensus.

"(That means) having a sincere dialogue, putting the interests of the homeland first, so that a girl can reach her school in peace, so that a housewife can go to the market with peace of mind, and so that a worker can arrive at his workplace without facing blocked roads," she added.
