The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Friday participated in the event titled "Planning for Sustainable Productive Development in the Regions of Peru."

This event started at 9:00 a.m. at the National Society of Industries headquarters in Lima's San Isidro district, the Presidential Office Strategic Communication and Press Secretariat reported.

Within this framework, the top official indicated that despite having completed 201 years of independence, poverty and populations who do not have access to water and sewerage still persist in Peru, as well as a lack of attention to people suffering from diseases such as tuberculosis and hospitals "that are collapsing."

"Peru is rich and we have grown, but what can do we do with that growth if we don't generate industries? (…)," Mrs. Boluarte said.

In this sense, the top official called on entrepreneurs to industrialize the country. Yet, she said, there must be political will in order to achieve this transformative approach.
