Peru's Prime Minister Pedro Angulo on Sunday noted that the members of the new Ministerial Cabinet are career officials, who are familiar with their sectors and have experience in their departments.

The Cabinet chief affirmed that this feature of the new ministerial team ensures that it can be re-established and make the changes that State agencies need.

"There have to be changes in the beginning. The participation of technicians is needed, and the appointment of ministers who are career officials is the biggest guarantee for that, as they are familiar with their sectors, have experience, are well prepared, and much is actually expected from them," he stated.

"We are confident that they (the newly appointed Cabinet ministers) will comply with their duty," Mr. Angulo said in an interview with PBO.

Angulo Arana pointed out that criticizing the appointments of officials is very easy in the Peruvian political arena, but he underscored that the new ministerial team is a technical working group.

"This is a Cabinet of technicians," the high-ranking official emphasized.

Regarding the fight against corruption, the head of the PCM remarked that President Dina Boluarte pledged to deal with this scourge when she administered the oath of office to the new ministers and when she assumed the Presidency of the Republic during a plenary session at Congress.
