The construction sector grew 9.9% in July 2026 compared with the same month in 2025, driven by increased activity in private and public works, the
"In the first seven months of 2026, the construction sector accumulated 10.7% growth. Meanwhile, on a seasonally adjusted basis, the sector expanded 1.2% compared with the previous month," it explained.
Domestic cement consumption increased 10.2% in July, driven by higher shipments by Yura in the south of Peru (15.9%) and by Pacasmayo in the north (11.5%).
Likewise, shipments by Unacem rose 5%.
"Additionally, public works increased 9.5%, driven by higher investment by regional governments (18.2%), the national government (10.1%), and local governments (3.6%)," the BCR indicated.
"By type of project, investment grew in non-residential building construction, basic services, road infrastructure, and disaster risk prevention works," it added.
