Peru's Ambassador meets with U.S. Agriculture Department Under-Secretary

Peruvian Ambassador Gustavo Meza-Cuadra held a meeting with United States Department of Agriculture's Under-Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs Alexis Taylor, Peru's Embassy in the North American country has reported.

The Peruvian diplomat and the U.S. Government official highlighted the growth in bilateral trade, especially in agriculture, and benefits of the Peru-U.S. Trade Agreement, which will be in force for 15 years in 2024.

Similarly, they shared priorities for market access, including fruits and vegetables.

They also explored opportunities for cooperation on sustainable agriculture and adaptation to climate change, particularly during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum Presidencies by the United States in 2023 and Peru in 2024.
