Below, we explain the role played by the Special Electoral Boards (JEE), the
Decentralized Electoral Process Offices (ODPE), and the National Elections Board (JNE) in the processing of challenged electoral records from the presidential runoff election held June 7.
Step 1
First, the ODPE sends the challenged electoral records to the JEE, accompanied by a report and the electoral record corresponding to the JEE.
Step 2
Then, the JEE issues a ruling on the matter, comparing the electoral record challenged by the ODPE with the electoral record corresponding to it.
Step 3
Next, the decision issued by the JEE may be appealed before the JNE's plenary within three calendar days from the day following its publication on the JEE notice board.
Step 4
The JNE will review the challenged electoral record in a virtual public hearing. Afterwards, it will issue a ruling in the final and definitive instance within three working days from the day following receipt of the case file.
Step 5
Once an electoral record has been resolved, it is returned to the ODPE to be entered into the vote count.
