Peru's trade balance recorded a surplus of US$456 million in July 2019, thus reaching US$2.900 billion in the first seven months of the year, Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported on Friday.
Exports totaled US$3.989 billion in July of the present year.
"This result mainly reflects higher sales in farming and chemical sectors, which witnessed double-digit year-on-year rates in said month," BCR explained.
Furthermore,
imports totaled US$3.533 billion in July.
Purchases of consumer and capital goods increased, but those of inputs fell.
