"This progress confirms the importance of maintaining ongoing operations against drug trafficking. Our administration will strengthen this effort to recover every area currently occupied by illegality," Minister Vicente Tiburcio stated.
The coordinated work by the Corah Project and the Peruvian National Police (PNP) allowed for interventions in the operational areas of Aguaytia, Tamaya, Madre Mia, Putumayo, Atalaya, Tingo Maria, Constitucion, Caballococha, Huimbayoc, Curimana, and Amazonas, where sustained actions were carried out to reduce the presence of illicit crops.
Destruction of five clandestine laboratories
According to the official report, the interventions carried out in 10,820 plots included the elimination of 1,345 m² of seedbeds, as well as the location and destruction of five rudimentary clandestine laboratories aimed at drug production.
Given this comprehensive effort, the potential production of 313.14 metric tons of cocaine hydrochloride was also prevented.
The report highlights that the regions with the highest eradication volumes were Ucayali (17,531.80 ha), Huanuco (9,704.13 ha), Loreto (5,078.84 ha), San Martin (1,703.98 ha), and Amazonas (163.39 ha). Operations continue at present.
Thanks to this progress, the Ministry of Interior reaffirms its commitment to confronting drug trafficking head-on through sustained, coordinated actions based on operational intelligence.
The sector will continue boosting comprehensive interventions aimed at weakening illicit economies, protecting affected ecosystems, and strengthening the Peruvian State's presence throughout the national territory.
