Culture Minister Alejandro Neyra has reported that the deployment of a specialized police unit to San Miguel del Ene (Junin region) has been ordered.
Likewise, the high-ranking official pointed out that there are on-going police investigations of technical nature —in coordination with the Public Ministry and the Armed Forces.
Furthermore, Cabinet member requested Peruvian citizens not to be shocked by the information related to military operations in VRAEM, as the truthful one is exclusively issued through official channels.
"As a Government, we reaffirm our commitment to neutrality, ensuring the safety of the population during the upcoming elections," he said.

Defense Minister Nuria Esparch has announced the establishment of an antiterrorist base in San Miguel del Ene in order to strengthen security.
